Everything's Better in a British Accent

My impatience for June and my trip is unabated. The promise of summer--freedom from school, swimming in lakes, tanning, uninterrupted work on my novels, the Colorado Renaissance Fair, and most importantly, my trip to the UK--is the light at the end of my tunnel of droll college. And what, you wonder, does that have to do with the title of this post? Everything. Because, you see, one of the things helping tide me over until the trip is movies and TV shows starring--you guessed it--British actors.

Because everything's better in a British accent.

So, following on my last post about British and Scottish-set books, here is just a sampling of my favorite movies and TV shows starring British actors (or people speaking in British accents). A few of them even have Scottish actors!

Movies
  • The Lord of the Rings trilogy
  • Sherlock Holmes
  • Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
  • The Eagle
  • Thor
  • A Knight's Tale
  • X-Men: First Class
  • The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe
  • The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (with the exception of Caspian's horrid Spanish accent)
  • Pride and Prejudice (Kiera Knightley version)
TV Shows
  • Sherlock
  • Merlin
  • Lie to Me
  • Robin Hood
  • MI-5
 Well. Until next time, mates.
